Live

A couple of days ago I did something very random. While driving through a town called Durbanville in South Africa where you can admire the most beautiful mountain range, I saw this lonesome cemetary and decided to take a walk through it. Admiring all different tombstones, people sharing their love and heart on cold grey slabs of stone and granite to those long lost ones. Fresh flowers from loved ones that still visit regularly and also those not so often visited.
This is where I made this amazing discovery. There in front of me was this tombstone, I know, how profound. On the tombstone were two dates. One of the dates were the date of the persons birth and the other, his death. The only problem was that the date he died was prior to the date he was born. I found it quite funny at first and thought to myself how someone could make a mistake like that?

But, after a couple of minutes thinking about it, it actually shocked me. There's much truth in those dates. There truly are people in this world that has never really lived. People that die before they even have the chance. Some of them die at the age of 25 some in their 40s and some even in their 90s without being truly alive.
The reason not all live even though they are alive, is because they just exist. They get caught up in the limitations that this life tries to draw around us. They give all sorts of things the permission to draw the boundaries around their lives.
We are to live lives that make a difference and not be limited by money, people, culture, tradition etc.

Live a life worth dying for!
