Walking on the beach today I was astounded as to what I came across. It was more of an epiphany. Something so small and insignificant, yet so profound. This is the subject of "Beach sand" better known as silicon dioxide[Si02].
Caught up in lives of narcissism we have stopped seeing what really matters in life. It has become all about us and what we can get out of life. How we can reap and benefit from what others can do for us.
We are caught in this rat race with the leader setting the pace, always running harder, always stronger. It is not that we try to keep up, we try to overtake. We want to be bigger, we want to run in the front.
We want to Lead!
What is this we are striving for?
A constant comparison with others! A battle between contentness and consumerism!
When considering the life of an average "Sand grain", this is what I found:
- there are no two grains identical
- together they form the beach
Imagine walking on the beach where every grain wants to be bigger than the next one.
