Grass?? greener?? the other side?

Let that be a lesson to us all!! Sometimes the answer, and in my case, the burger was where I least expected it. Some of my walking around and venturing is in direct connection with my eating habits. You see i don't eat a lot, but i eat often. This has become a great habit of mine that failed a bit living in Linfen. Linfen is a time in my life that will be known as a constant discomfort due to a overload on good food. But the muchies are back without me smoking some interesting stuff. I love the idea of being hungry constantly and never overdoing it. You always have a little space if you want to try something you see in a shop or at a street vendor. You must be thinking that my stomach plays up quite often. Well, in China only once did i need to run home, but that was due to bad planning on my behalf after having some figs.

So tonight was no different than any other and i felt peckish and just in need of something lightweight. I already had a shop in mind that i wanted to visit to see if i can just get a normal chicken burger. While i was still about hundred meters away from this shop, i realized that they were closed for business. Mmm... on my right, which is just outside the grounds of the campus I live, was a little shop. Previously i wanted to have a look at what they sold, but tonight i didn't have any other option. Getting closer to the shop/kiosk I saw a menu lying on the desk. Yeah... I could actually see what I was going to eat and it was not just Chinese characters on this piece of paper, they actually had some English on the menu and accompanying pictures.

They had something on the menu which looked quite small and this looked like just the right size for me. It was called a "Chinese burger". Don't really know what made this burger Chinese as it had some chicken, tomato, some greens and off course a spicy hot spread. This was an amazing experience for me. To make things even better, the girl behind the desk spoke a little English. Well, no questions as to where I will buy many more "Chinese burgers" from. Did I mention yet that the cost of the "Chinese burger" was only 1,5Yuan? This is a steal if there ever was one.

Let this be a lesson to us all! The grass might be greener on the other side, but the burgers are closer and cheaper right where you are.
